Virgin offers 100 Mbps broadband

Yesterday, Virgin media announced 100 Mbps high speed broadband internet service to its UK customers. Already it provides 10, 20 and 50 Mbps broadband internet service. This 100 Mbps is especially for residential customers. Company claims it as major growth and plans for 200 Mbps. Virgin media confirms that this service will be available from this year end. You can download a normal mp3 song in just 5 seconds using 100 Mbps connection.

Virgin uses fiber optic cables to deliver high speed broadband services. Increase in broadband speed simultaneously improves business web hosting services. In US, FCC suggests broadband service providers to boost up their speed upto 100 Mbps. According to media reports Google and Cisco plans for ultra high speed networks, we are eagerly waiting for announcements from these giants. Virgin may campaign 200 Mbps broadband test possibly by May 2010.
